A little bit after Dolegna del Collio, in Mernico, there was a man, who in 1960, fell in love with a hill, and the two of them got married. Their sons and nephews created an island of peacefulness and vineyards, where the wines were born.
Today, the labels that contain the handwritten signature of Ferruccio Sgubin, represent a high expression of these lands. Anyone who visits the famous restaurant “Al Cjant dal Rusignul”, which is situated near the wine cellar, is not able to do less, than to take at least one case of wine …
One of the most precious is the wine blend of Mirnik White and Mirnik Red, as well as varietal wines – generous reds and elegant whites.
In a short distance after a wine cellar, there is a road, which in ten minutes, takes you under an enormous tree, where you can sit, enjoy the horizon, with Collio under your feet. If you are in a mood to stay, and finally take a pause from the every day’s mess, you can find accommodation in one of the rooms of rural and welcoming “La Casa degli Ospiti”, which is managed by the Sgubin family.
At the end, you will realize, that you didn’t miss absolutely anything, except the will to come back, and to replenish yourself once again with Ferruccio Sgubin’s wines.
